Open Settings
- Select Settings in the bottom bar, or open Home, then Tools, then Reader Settings.
- On a phone, the Light or Dark button in the bottom bar also switches the theme directly.
Appearance
- Dark mode
- A complete dark theme for the screen, the Mushaf paper and the Quranic ink. The Tajweed colours are drawn brighter in dark mode so they stay easy to see.
Word interaction
Choose what happens when the pointer rests on a word (tablets and computers; phones have no pointer):
- Stable words
- Words stay still and unhighlighted; only the hand pointer shows. Good for calm reading.
- Interactive words
- The word under the pointer is enlarged and softly highlighted. Good for following along word by word.
Tajweed
- Show Tajweed colours
- The main switch. Turn it off to read the page in plain ink, then back on to check yourself.
- Rule switches
- One switch for each rule: Ghunnah (nasal), Tafkheem (bold), Qalqalah (echo). Turn one off to hide that colour only, for example to practise a single rule. The colour key at the bottom of the page follows your choice.
Both Mushafs have these switches, and share them: a rule turned off in one is off in the other. What each colour means: Tajweed colour guide.
Mushaf
Settings also let you move between the 16-line and the 15-line Mushaf. The other Mushaf opens at the place you are reading. You can do the same from Home.
